瀨戶正人,泰裔日籍攝影家,出生於泰國,隨後於1961年搬至日本福島縣。畢業於東京視覺藝術學校後,他陸續跟隨攝影師森山大道、深瀨昌久學習。1987年,瀨戶正人開設了攝影畫廊-Place M。

 

瀨戶多年來贏得多項攝影大獎肯定,如日本攝影協會新人賞、東川新人作家賞、寫真會賞、第21屆木村伊兵衛寫真賞、第12屆新潮學藝賞,以及日本寫真學會賞。

 

他曾在「曼谷」、「街」、「寫真都市東京」、「Living Room」、「Muang HANOI」以及「檳榔」等展覽展出他的重要作品。而多件攝影作品,也成為東京都寫真美術館、川崎市民博物館、洛杉磯蓋提博物館、艾爾頓強及福島美術館的永久收藏。

 

重要攝影集和作品出版: 《Bangkok / Hanoi (IPC)》,《Silent Mode》,《Tooi to Masato (Tooi and Masato)》,《Picnic》, 《Binran》。

 

 

SETO Masato, a Japanese-Thai photographer. Born in Udon Thani, Thailand and moved to Fukushima prefecture in 1961. He graduated from Tokyo Visual Arts. After the further study under Daido Moriyama, Seto became the assistant of Masahisa Fukase in 1978. Afterwards, in 1978, he opened a photography gallery –Place M.

 

Seto was awarded with the Photographic Society of Japan Newcomer Award, the Higashikawa Prize, Shincho Gakugei Award, Society of Photography Award, the Photographic Society of Japan Annual Award, and the prestigious Kimura Ihei Award.

 

Selected exhibitions like “Bangkok” (Tokyo, Japan), “Streets” (Japan), “Photographic City Tokyo” (Tokyo Metropolitan Museum Of Photography, Japan), “Living Room” (Japan), “Muang HANOI” (Japan), “Binran” (Japan), featured his important collection such as “Bangkok/Hanoi” and “Living Room”. His photography works have become a part of the permanent collection of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Kawasaki City Museum, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Elton John Collection, and the Fukushima Museum.

 

His publications include 《Bangkok/Hanoi (IPC)》, 《Silent Mode》, 《Tooi to Masato》(Tooi and Masato), 《Picnic》, 《Binran》.
